For some reason both of these things remind me of fall. Fall feels old, even though it is newly upon us.

findings
A few recent finds. The first is a scrap of newspaper found underneath the carpet of the house I grew up in. We are guessing it is about forty years old based on the fact that green beans were 28 cents and Gladys Knight was 29. (Two very trustworthy things to base dates on mind you.) The second was a hidden stairway we spied with a neglected statue.

It does feel old doesn't it. It reminds me of death and wind and the movie "Premonition" believe it or not.
ReplyDeletelove the second photo!
ReplyDeletethey DO feel fall like. so nice, julie! and that newspaper finding-WOW!
ReplyDeletei think i would be afraid to walk on those stairs with him laying there.
ReplyDeleteperfect. perfect.
ReplyDeletethat bit of newspaper, what a treasure! i love finding remnants of the past just as they were left, long ago.
ReplyDeleteFall does feel old. And for me this is compounded by the fact that fall always reminds me of Paris and the semester I spent there in what seemed to me like such an old and wonderful city.
ReplyDeleteThose are both great finds; I think the statue is especially neat!
