LOTR love

It is no secret that I am a HUGE Lord of the Rings fan. I grew up reading the books and watching the cartoons so obviously when the full length movies came out my family and I died a little bit out of pure joy. (Why am I divulging all of my nerdy secrets, why?!) Lucky for me, here at work I have some fine fellow employees that too share this obsession (thank you Becca for geeking out with me). I would like to bring to your attention that, yes, the ring is wearing a track suit. Also note our pure joy at said ring kicking the bucket, as it were.
This year, just like last, did not disappoint.

(ugh, fine, maybe we made a video too. Don't judge.)

  1. Once I saw a girl in my ward wearing Arwen's Evenstar necklace, and I remarked on it. When she launched into a 30 min treatise on LOTR trivia, I thought "Wow, this girl is way too into this." But then I realized that she hadn't yet told me anything I didn't already know, and that I had been tempted to correct her on a point or two.

Needless to say, these costumes are terrific.

  2. Wow! Well, there is probably no need to tell you how popular it is here in NZ where it is filmed!!!! Your costumes are awesome and how cool is it that your co-workers dressed up too.

  3. Julie, you were the best Legolas of all time. The boots, the wig, the tunic. Nice work.

These pictures bring me so much joy.

I'm really happy that Steve has his wrist brace on with his costume.

You, Cam, and Casey in the last pic are really great.

And I am interested to know if Scott walked on all fours all day.

    The Ent.

Ok, I'll stop. Thanks for posting these!

  5. every time i open that group picture i find something else that i like. the first time i wondered what it was like for becca to work in a beard all day. the second time i noticed the velour track suit. the third time i noticed the woman dressed as merry really bears an uncanny resemblance to the character. too good!
